Songs Torturer

Q: what do you think of william hungs success?

A: when i first read this question, i almost just deleted it, because i thought i did not know who william hung is. then i harkened back to the break room at work, and all those issues of US and PEOPLE magazine they have laying around, and then i thought i might just know who he is. if he is that chinese dude who looks like he has down syndrome, then yes, i know who he is. what do i think of his success? i think it is pretty sweet that someone who looks like they are retarded can be famous even though i have no idea what they did to get famous.

(source: http://www.nataliedee.com/asknatalie041404.php)

I agree, no doubt William's no-regrets philosophy's very admirable and should be set as a good example, but I'm sure you can excel in civil engineering or whatever shit you're studying. so just zip up and quit yelling at songs, honey! not everyone can sing, not everyone can pose! arrggh.

And brother, quit listening to his yelling, please! or use headphone!

World of Rockers

sharing of thoughts - Natalie and Drew Rocks!

I Like the Breeze on My Face

Submitted AM assignment for this semester, went through IP presentation (screwed up I guess), so it's more or less having a big load off of my shoulder for this semester. Yesterday was the day.

Came home, so relaxed, dined with mom, surfed the internet, chatted a lil', played online games, read newspapers, read books. The best is to stand in the garden, doing lil' exercise in the dark being kissed by the night breeze. What a life!

Discovered some sites that I really admire. Check out www.toothpastefordinner.com and www.nataliedee.com think they're siblings, both great, outspoken, straightforward, can tell that they're real smart folks. Rock on, smarties!

Oh, haven't been seeing my housemate for more than a week. She must be wondering where I am like I'm doing the same.

Got to know some good players and friendly people, and some real lousy losers while playing online games. School resumes tomorrow (later, I mean) but it feels like holiday already. Sigh. Still have to revise PMMT and get going with FYP... way on!

Born to Try

Delta Goodrem - Born to Try

Doing everything that I believe in
Going by the rules that I’ve been taught
More understanding of what’s around me
And protected from the walls of love

All that you see is me
And all I truly believe

That I was born to try
I’ve learned to love
Be understanding
And believe in life
But you’ve got to make choices
Be wrong or right
Sometimes you’ve got to sacrifice the things you like

But I was born to try

No point in talking what you should have been
And regretting the things that went on
Life’s full of mistakes, destinies and fate
Remove the clouds look at the bigger picture

And all that you see is me
And all I truly believe

That I was born to try
I’ve learned to love
Be understanding
And believe in life
But you’ve got to make choices
Be wrong or right
Sometimes you’ve got to sacrifice the things you like

But I was born to try

All that you see is me
All I truly believe
All that you see is me
And all I truly believe

That I was born to try

I’ve learned to love
Be understanding
And believe in life
But you’ve got to make choices
Be wrong or right
Sometimes you’ve got to sacrifice the things you like

But I was born to try

But you’ve got to make choices
Be wrong or right
Sometimes you’ve got to sacrifice the things you like

But I was born to try

"Unless you spread your wings, you'll never know how high you can fly"

Memories - To Wei Chiang.

Crickets chirp, Fan turns, Keyboard taps, Cars pass by
Dull night. Emotions not sure. Not on drugs, for sure.
Mom would call me silly. I think this is alright.

One night, that night, those nights
Behind the petrol station
Cat meowing in air-cond, caged
You were typing
I on your lap
You gave me pecks, loved 'em
Turned around, hugging your neck
Must have felt like a bear huh

You'd fold your chair
Roll out the mattress
Under the blanket
Was your body warmth
And more
That tiny corner
I wouldn't call home
Yet it felt warm and comfy
Becoz you were there
Becoz you were you
The sweetest nights

Goodbye with tears
Goodbyes with hugs and kisses
I choose to believe
You gave your best and I did too
And more
I'm sure you foreseen
Where fate'll bring us today
Literally, non-literally
I could foresee too
But I ran away from it
Ran away from you
Tried too hard
Just becoz I didn't understand
Goodbye ain't an end
A beginning actually, to more
Much more

Back then were where the memories belong
Memories are yours and mine
Good ones ugly ones happy ones painful ones
Now it all seem silly
Now it all seem sweet
Memories that rush into my mind tonight
Memories when I was young and energetic
Memories that always accompany my growth
From womanhood, to old lady-hood
Ha-ha!

You played your role
I gave your marks
Which I shouldn't have had at all
But thought it should be
That chapter I shared with you

You changed me
Or is it that you helped reveal the real me
The way I look
At life, family, friends, love, attitude
And more
You showed me a broader view
Of the horizon I thought I've seen
Have I given you hope and comfort before
Not sure if you felt it
But that was the best
From me
And will still do

Still kind and helpful
Guess that's all I'm truly sure bout you
Something that I believed in you
And still do, will do
Good luck, darling.

Pandai-Pandai

On the second day of teeth extraction, I smart smart brushed my teeth because I can't stand PerioGard the mouth and throat rinse's taste. Guess I hurt the wound which is quite big according to Dr. Ng, and now my left cheek hurts so much and is swollen :'( Or is it because I pandai-pandai never go on soft diet? Sigh, anyway I'm the one suffering now...

1/15/2005

Ouch.. Numbness..

Extracted my two remaining wisdom teeth today at Dr. Ng's clinis. Six stitches, two teeth, six fifty six ar-am, done and gone in an hour.

Bloody painful. Literally, and non-literally. The lips, tongue, left cheek and left ear feels so numb, it's indeed the time when someone gives me a slap right on the face and I wouldn't feel anything. Literally. No feelings - I know coz I pinched these places - would've yelled normally. The dryness of the lips is very unbearable. Can't drink without straw coz I fail to control my mouth, will look like retarded drinking if I try too hard. Didn't even realize that there was blood on my lips, time to change the gauze.

Dr. Ng asked to expect the swell to be worse than the previous time, darn. But then luckily she gave MC for Monday, so one extra day for IP assignment :p

Long days ahead...

Oh I finally could guess why it is called wisdom tooth - it's almost invisible but you know it's there; It's so small in size yet it's powerful enough to turn your day bad, turn your mood up-side-down when it grows the wrong direction. So to deal with it, you need patience. When you eventually get rid of it and could analyse why it's called such, like me *eh-hem* you have wisdom :p Mel's crapping again... haha!

LRT Day

Sent my car to cousin Heng's workshop, not knowing that there's Star LRT in Sentul, I commuted in KTM to KL Sentral, asked the information counter and knew that I had to transit to Masjid Jamek in Putra LRT. When I arrived at Sri Petaling in Star, realize I should've gotten down at Bukit Jalil, so took another train back. was already late for the first class. Walked back to apartment to get the pda charger, tried for 2 days it just won't switch on or reset :( Took a quick shower before heading to school in cab, stopped by at Shukran to have lunch, it took half an hour for the people there to serve me (other customers were already eating) maggie goreng. wasted my time, darn.

After class, took Star LRT till Sentul, walked all the way till the workshop in high heels, gosh, torturing my skin, toes and feet! Arrived home, met with an old friend online whom I can't remember him at all, went through standard 6 together apparently. He remembered my name! Impressed, thought all along I've kept my profile very low.

That's my day.

Basic Graduation

Received my cert for basic sign! yay! Knew who's Lucy finally. So happy to see Koon Wai, Vivian, Dino, Anne, Yoke Peng and others :) Oh there's this good looking fella, Samuel who just completed level 3 i guess. Graduate in physics and master in linguistic, magnetic voice, sharp pronunciation, fluent english, always smiling, phew-it!

Got back, tired. Been driving very fast these two days, even on narrow roads. Keep overtaking even when it's risky, something's wrong? hmm... gotta slow down, mel.

Laziness Has Eaten Me Up

I am so lei-z! Can't get my work done, darn! Somebody help get rid of the lazy worms in me! S.O.S!

Gathering@Matt's

Dear Matt

Today's gathering at your place, though was less fun compare to the previous MUSA gathering, but was comfy and felt at home. Thanks for the invitation :) Throughout the year of 2004, you've taken care of me very well, protected and stood up for me when I needed you most, during meetings with the council, the PVC, the management, and meetings outside. You're been a very kind boss and brother to me :) Thank you very much! *hug*

Have a prosperous 2005! Good luck in everything.

Get'in Crei-z

If the computer processor is equivalent to human brain, what is harddisk?

I said it's the stomach. Dr CV who tried his best in rescuing my "stomach" for me agreed :P So, today it finally dies. (I say "finally" coz I've been trying and trying to rescue it but failed to do so, and Dr CV gave me hope)

Been sitting in front of the laptop these few days, feeling the heat and ache of my butts, though I try so many different positions. So, my "casing" hurts, ouch :P

Summary
processor = brain
RAM = memory
stomach = harddisk
system casing = butts
CD/DVD/diskette drive = mouth and a**hole (why? where do you think you feed in food(data) and erase data (pangsai)?!!)

haha.. mel's gettin' crazee.

luckily backed up all da data on my new stomach jor.

neeways, really have to thank myself for choosing my current laptop despite the weight (don't ask, shhh!) coz now that i've this new portable stomach, 2 ports are occupied, another one for my minnie (mini) mouse (mom thinks it's too small, just like my new stomach - why isn't things good when they come in real small and handy size? dad calls my car mickey mouse car coz it's small oso...), another one for my pda sync cable cum adapter (my RAM always fail, always forgot to charge pda and in times when I need it urgently, my laptop's the ambulance). So 4 USB ports are really jz nice. Nice decision, Mel! *applause, then curtsey to myself in the mirror* Tengkiu tengkiu.

Oh, Mel's really crazee :P

Quick Independance

visited sister, she seems to be socialising pretty well in school. First day of school already attending "meeting". She even said proudly, "See, no tears!" Haha. That lil' dude.

After seeing her when we were leaving, mom realised she was holding a pen that belongs to sis. Mom was "worried" if sis DOESN'T have enough pen to use. *faint* mom, ree~lek!! Not sure if I should laugh out loud, but am definitely thankful for all her blessings. So protective still is my mom towards us...

The Journey of Growing Up

Sent sister to her hostel today, she appeared strong and steady. No scream no tears no complaints (though her bedroom design and her cupboard condition's pathetic). A new year, new environment, new challenges ahead awaits her.

Witnessing her transformation from a lil' girl into a teenager, can't help but notice how time flies. It was like yesterday when I dressed her up and plaitted her hair when she was in standard one, and now she's in form one already. I used to carry her tightly in my arms and swing in circles, and now she's strong enough to lift me up. I used to think that her shirts and shoes are so small and cute, and now I can even fit into her pinafore, we share shirts, pants and shoes.

The night is still and quiet. I'm in our bedroom alone now. Miss her presense very much, now it's time to bear the loneliness of growing up (she's the youngest in the family, and she's on her way to independance). Now there's no one for me to bully and tease (Yeah I'm bad, I know), no one's now to bite, hit and kick me. Things change, we all grow older. How much will we miss each other's company (well I miss her company for sure)? Time will tell.

All the best sis.

I miss the times when the whole family lives under one roof, literally. For parents, children growing up = loneliness filling the house? Or is it the sense of achievements? Meanwhile for children, siblings growing up = going the different paths? No matter what it is, although we grow up at different pace, the times when the four of us laughed at each other, worried about each other, bullied each other at home yet protecting each other outside of home, will be remembered. Now off and on when bro and I recalled the times we used to fight like crazees, we laugh so hard :) What a happy family! *happy sigh*
