Deaf Studies

Yesterday's sign class was very interesting. Assignments were due for submission, Lucy came into the class and conducted the session in verbal speech. Learned some facts bout deafness and sign language from Vivian and Anne Laura before, but Lucy told us so much more.

Learned bout Waardenburg Syndrome, mix marriage preference of the deaf, heard of sad stories bout deaf people, taught of how to improve on visual gesture and signing skills, etc. Heard of the many places that those deaf people have gone to, amazing.

Sigh. And I as a healthy person, what have I done?

Twenty Four

Another year older.

Happy Birthday to Chee Lih, Sara, CJ, Yaw Poi.

We could make every moment a special memory. So here I try: Something special ‘bout My birthday 2005

Sister was seriously the first of the first to wish me, but by some mistakes (of the phone not ringing loud enough, or rather I was in real deep sleep) I thought she forgot. She set a reminder “Happy Birthday, Sista!” on my phone and set the alarm to ring at 11.59am on 20th November. But then… *oink!* Thanks sis! *hug* Though you always bully me, but me still love you!

Becky was the first (that I was aware) to wish me! On the 19th, no one can beat. Thank you, young lady :)

Lovey was the second (early birthday wish on 19th - he mistaken my birthday and thought it was on the 20th). But then he bought dinner on the 20th, and he’s still caring and loving, all that matters. Thanks Lovey, Monte’s food is nice, really.

Chee Lih’s sms wishes came in right before I dozed off on the 21st morning. Thanks, man.

Henry being such a busy person, took the trouble to sms! Aww, surprised. Thanks, dude!

Keong Zi actually remembered my birthday! I’m speechless. Thanks, pal.

Louisa and Shirley remembered my birthday! How sweet of you, thanks!

Bro and Pat jeje took time to call and sms to wish, thanks a lot, guys. See you on Thursday/Friday. I miss you, bro. Love, SWL.

Matt smsed and called. Yo, thanks, man. Hope we’ll make good race partners. *toast*

Sara said he forego his ego to call me, don’t quite understand but nvm. New York cheesecake taste really good. Thanks for coming out!

Dush needed a reminder. Thanks for calling and singing me bday song, it’s a surprise hehe. Argh, but I hate to say goodbye. You take care there.

Mom came in, planted kisses, gave present. Thanks mom, what can I say. I’m so lucky to be your daughter, and I thank you for giving me good health, good education, brought me up the gentle way. I love you, mommy.

Lock Lee said he can’t be the first so he “vowed” to be the last to wish – he called at 11.57pm on 21st November. Hey, you’re always “creative” in your very own style. But am really happy that you called and wish. Thanks a lot!

Sze Hwei’s card was sent in by mom right before I doze off on the 22nd morning. “Salam Aidilfitri” at the cover from the creative girl who changed the inner word “Raya” to “Jadi” so it becomes “Selamat Hari Jadi”. Nice to hear from you again :) *hug* Tengkiu tengkiu! It says our friendship’s still alive and kickin’, me very happy!

Dad forgot as usual. Thanks for the present still, though. Thanks for encouraging me all these years. Love, SWL.

Casey probably remembered the date wrongly. But then am really surprised to be greeted by him. Thanks.

And I realize I’ve blogged for a year, though slowing down lately.

A happy day for Mel.

"Make it two," says Matt.

Hehe.

Home-Coming

FF finally returns to Malaysia, for a few months. Surprised to receive his call the other night but wasn’t excited or overjoyed to hear his voice, perhaps because of haven’t have heard much of his exciting life. His contract will be due in 2007, till then he’ll still be flying everywhere.

Couldn’t feel much joy towards lots of things lately, but then that’s life. Just glad am still looking forward to bro’s home-coming on the 24th.

Been swimming but feel heavy most days, must be the late dinners and heavy meals. Also blaming it on sitting in the cubicle 43 hours per week. Geeez! Bad for health. Butt width growing, can almost feel it…
